Always prospecting for new higher-grade additions to my National Commemorative Medals of the US Mint set which has some very low population medals. These were all approved by Congress, signed by the President and are official US commemorative medals. These contain a vast variety of designs and finishes and are not well known or collected.

It is unlikely, but I do wonder if it is possible they minted 50,000 and distributed them with say 1,294 privies in a first batch to allow them time to mint 50,000, star-privy eagles for distribution… (View Post)2 -
