Shell coins like the OP‘s are generally glued, so although they will have a different “ding“ to them when you drop them, they rarely separate,imo (View Post)1 -

Man-made novelty item – ‘magicians coin’, as Mark noted above. If I had to guess, I’d say that the 1999 side was originally the reverse of the 1998 nickel I can see the seam when I enlarge the photo (View Post)3 -
