I have seen the coin, letter and cert. it is not a proof. It had edges similar to a proof but was slightly bent, likely removed from an encasement. 1917 proof cent does not exist. (View Post)9 -

It is not that the planchets were annealed differently, it is that the bronze and gold planchets require a lower annealing temperature and were annealed at the same temperature as the silver and nick… (View Post)1 -
