I finally did it.

I put down a deposit at the White Plains show today and will pick it up in the next week or two.

I won't say what it is until I have it in hand, but I couldn't be more excited about it.

(and no, it's not a Will Clark card!)

    You violated rule #1....never admit you did it. Regardless if you are caught with it, recorded on video tape taking it or doing it or even if there is a 100 eye witnesses. Repeat after me......I did not do it.

    To answer some questions, it's not inflatable, isn't named Kristen and is bigger than a breadbox.

    I've mentioned it on this board at least once before, though I doubt anyone cares enough to find the old message. (and that would sort of ruin it when I actually do have it and can post a picture.)

    I'm really excited about it, but I don't want to say what it is until it's in hand. I think I got a pretty good deal on it, too!

    I've wanted this since the summer of 1988, when I was 14 years old and saw the stories about this historic signing at a show in Atlantic City.

    It's hanging right in front of my desk at work, and I think it might impact my productivity the next day or two...

    I am not usually a big fan of multi-signed pieces for some odd reason, but that litho is awesome and I can only imagine it will continue to gain value over the years. I am curious as if you consider that to be the "centerpiece" of your collection? I would have to imagine so. Congrats!

    Thanks, guys. I'm glad you like the piece. I paid $1500, which I think is a very fair price. There are a lot of similar items that aren't as nice, including quite a few with a really ugly "Hit King Marketing" printed across the blue sky. Bleech.

    I'm not sure if this is the centerpiece of my collection, as I don't really collect autographs, but I really do love it.

    Thanks for letting me show off. I suspect I'll probably do so every now and then, when it seems appropriate.

    Thanks, Mike. Yeah, it came just as it is for $1500. The framing alone would likely cost a couple hundred bucks, so I think I got a really good deal.

    Most were signed by Roldo "5 Hofer" Mangini.

    He could do 5 HOFers better than they signed themselves.

    My goodness! One wonders just how much they paid those 10 HOFers to sit & sign those 1,000 lithos?

    $ 5.00 per signing? (each HOFer made $ 5,000.00???)
    $10.00 per signing? (each HOFer made $ 10,000.00???)
    $ 20.00 per signing? (each HOFer made $ 20,000.00???)

    Or what? Maybe the Litho is a limited edition of 1,000, and only a select amount were signed by all 10 HOFers??? I don't know???

    Here's one simular variety, up for auction a few years ago. Bidding closed a $2,687.00 in 2005: 500 Home Run Club Multi-Signed Lithograph Graded PSA Gem Mint 10


    Found another variety that sold in 2007 for $1,345 (i.e., 901/1000). So 1500 bucks was cool!!! 500 Home Run Club Ron Lewis 901/1000 LE Signed Display


    And found another one that "hammered" at: $ 1,762.50 in 2007: 1988 Ron Lewis "500 Home Run Club" Signed Lithograph
