Add a new coin or upgrade?

Its late and I missed the Q and A tonight, but I will ask this anyway.

While building a reg. set on a budget, is it better to wait for the next coin or is it better to upgrade an existing coin and upgrade your set?

In other words,
What would you do if you had a fixed amount to spend and you saw an upgrade candidate, but by buying it you may lose out on a new coin for your set?

New or upgrade?

    This is a very tough question. And I feel a person's personal preference may have something to do with the answer.

    That said I believe I would lean towards buying the new coin rather than the upgrade. The only thing that would make me lean the other way would be a situation where the upgrade had killer eye appeal and a great price.
