Goldbacks NEWP ~ Post them if you have them!

I will admit, I wasn’t crazy about these initially, until the Florida ones were released, Florida, being my native state, I have an interest in these. I think the designs are fantastic!
I plan to get all of the denominations for Florida and will likely call it quits then.
Does anybody have any of these? From any state? If so, post them here!
I have these so far, the 10 goldbacks is still in the mail…

how fragile are they and how are they protected in transit?
I think @jmlanzaf might own some of these, or at least be familiar with them. I looked them up a while ago and they seem like a gimmick to me, though whomever issues them is certain to see a profit.
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
Not fragile. Usually shipped in cardboard, if your shipper is any good.
I have a few from Nevada and possibly another state, But hands down Florida Nailed the Artwork on their goldbacks.
Have multiples in $0.50/$1/$2/$5.
Might add a higher denomination if I come into some easy cheap money 🤑 but plenty of other things on my want list.
Indeed, they’re kind of wiggly, but they seem to be very durable although while handling them in my hand, I’m very very gentle with them.
They were sent between cardboard in a standard currency flip, they arrived perfect.
Indeed, with regards to how much gold they contain, they are about, double and even more than double the price which is a little painful on the larger ones.
Initially, I found them kind of gimmicky myself, but I watched some videos about them and read about them and looked at the ones I ordered and I actually kind of like them now. I just had to warm up to them I suppose.
The thing that blows me away is the 1/20th ounce and the 1/10 ounce, how do they get that much gold into a flexible piece of currency?
That kind of blows me away a little…
Likewise, the price, on the 10th we’re talking $350 worth of gold and they’re wanting $600 to $700? Yikes. 😬

it was possible to see dolphins in the keys?
i do love the art. too bad for the railroad. it was destined to happen back then
I bit the bullet and bought the rest! 25, 50 and hundred ship out on Monday.
$697 for the hundred, 1/10 of an ounce, that really stings 😆

what's the "mintage" on them?
ijust thought that cardboard might be abrasive enough to remove the art.
do they go into the sleeve then the cardboard?
Oh, they’re just in a normal sleeve and then they put cardboard around it to mail it because it was in an envelope which is totally fine, they arrived perfectly!
The mintage is something I’m trying to find out, not easy to find this out so far.

Once I have all of the Florida ones I will most likely stop… The other states are neat, but not for me.
North Carolina, where I currently reside, perhaps if they start making some and I like them I might do it again but for now it’s just Florida that I’m interested in.

this aspect of me is true to life, sorry for now and future weakness that may accidentally come out
and I do try not to do it.
I call it overly helpful to a fault
I have a few of these -- 1's from each of the other states and a 5 from Nevada. The art is quite nice but the concept really does feel gimmicky. I'm been on the fence about continuing for a long time -- don't have anything from Florida yet. The OCD side of me wants to keep going and at least get the 1; the completist side wants to get them all. But I'm skeptical of the future market and the premium is way high even for the smaller denominations.
Mine came free with VaultBox 3. I like the goldback’s pin-up girl feel.
In addition to the eight notes for Florida, I found that there was one special edition… With great reluctance I bought this:
So now my Florida set is complete, and I think this is my favorite one for design…
The last three are coming UPS, I should have those on Monday.

Now this set is complete and I can stop all of this madness!

The 25 has one of the coolest designs, that might be my favorite that or the one that’s slabbed.

I need to get one, I collect notes with alligators. I am pretty meh about the Goldback concept in general, but they will get me with that one!
Same here, I’ve seen some from the other states and similarly I’m just kind of lukewarm… The Florida ones are the ones that got me!

Mintages are possibly still increasing for Florida. Not sure when they stop issuing the 2025 notes. The limited release $1 is currently $300, but the lower mintage may give it more interest as fewer become available for sale. The PMG graded ones are nice. Certainly, of all I looked at, the Florida issues do have a better artwork. The first ones were in 2019 in Utah. More data is available at https://www.goldback.com/
@asheland I promised myself I would not buy more overpriced modern numismatic items, but your posts caught me off guard, so I now have the set of Florida, too. Is there a two-sided clear plastic picture frame, or a larger multiple currency flip holder for safe keeping and display?
Currently these are the Florida data.
The $1/2 has 640,000 minted
$1 400,000
$1 Limited release 8,000
$2 112,000
$5 41,600
$10 17,600
$25 15,360
$50 3,840
$100 2,300
My US Mint Commemorative Medal Set
Not sure to be honest, I’d like to frame all of mine at some point.
Currently I have them in those holders that fold around themselves, not sure of the actual name, but they’re super clear and it holds them very well!
Congratulations on the set of Florida notes!
