I have 2 of these proof coins, and they are 40% silver. How do I know if its worth $1 million or not?

    Are they graded PR70DCAM grade (Proof 70 Deep Cameo) by PCGS?

    Without seeing a photo, you likely have a nice coin. Whether it’s worth the money to get graded is up to you.

    Thanks for all the replies. Sites like this should be shut down than. My proof coins are very nice, but not sure how much proof coins go for. So don't know if its worth getting graded.

    I suggest that you become familiar with the PCGS coinfacts, here is a screen shot from coinfacts for proof Bicentenial quarters. PCGS doesn't list a guide value but look at the auction results for the highest graded at PF69. In this case the result is outdated, but these sell at auction for less than it would cost you to have yours graded.

    99.999% of 1976 proof coins are not worth getting graded. None of them are worth $1 million.

    The Type 4 1976-S PR70 DCAM quarters do exist.
    There are 1,583 of them at this grade level at present.

    However, the most they have ever sold for is $2,760.
    This auction record was back in 2007 when they were probably quite scarce.
    In recent years they have been selling for $150 - $290.

    Very few 1976-s Proof quarters will grade PR70 DCAM, and it will likely cost you over $50 to get one graded.
    If it sells for $200, you would need a 25% chance of your coin grading PR70 DCAM, to break even in expected value terms.
    This is a poor investment, since the chances are likely under 5%.

    For a coin to be worth $1 million, usually less than 20 are known, and there has to be a substantial demand for them.
