Topps Rookie card demotion

Gaylord Perry had a rookie card of his own in 1962 set.
Then was "demoted" to share a rookies card in the 1963 set.
Has this happened to any other players?
I collect Seattle Pilots autographs, 1969 Topps autographs, Signed Mickey Mantle Home Run History cards and have a JC Martin collection (he was my college Baseball coach)

    Chipper Jones in 1991 Topps appeared on his RC alone as a top draft pick. In 1992 he appeared with 3 others on a shortstops prospects card.
    Always looking for 1993-1999 Baseball Finest Refractors and1994 Football Finest Refractors.

    Bobby Murcer is on the Yankees Rookie Stars card in both '66 and '67.

    Jon Matlack is on a rookie card in both 1971 and 1972.

    Frank Bork got demoted and then never on a card again.

    I think there's a thread about being in multiple year rookie cards.
    Bill Davis was on 5 (1965,66,67,68,69) never could get his own card
    I collect Seattle Pilots autographs, 1969 Topps autographs, Signed Mickey Mantle Home Run History cards and have a JC Martin collection (he was my college Baseball coach)

    I believe Piniella has record for most different teams on a rookie prospect card - 3
    1964 Senators (played 4 games for orioles)
    1968 Indians
    1969 Pilots (ROY with Royals)

    WOW! What a trivia question this would be:

    What do Mike Hedlund, Floyd Weaver, Ray Barker, Tom Kelley, Gus Gill, Jose Vidal and Clarence Gaston have in common?

    ANSWER: They all appear on a TOPPS ROOKIE card with Bill Davis!

    Looks like they used his 66 card picture and put that same picture on the 69 card and blacked out the Indians cap logo.

    What do Manny Alexander, Alex Arias, Wil Cordero, Dave Silvestri, Benji Gil, Jeff Patzke, and Ryan Klesko have in common.


    Can anyone beat Bill Davis and Chipper Jone's mark of seven different people sharing a rookie multiple player card?

    I did not want to start a new thread if the topic was already started before, so here I am.

    I have been wondering how Dale Murphy could have two rookie cards in different years by the same manufacturer. So, both the 1977 and 1978 Topps cards are Dale Murphy's rookie cards? Maybe I should not be surprised, as most players from that era to the present have multiple rookie cards. It just surprised me that they were in two different years. Anyone know the story on this? I find this interesting.

    Which Dale Murphy card would be his most valuable rookie? I am sure a true Dale Murphy collector would just collect them all.

    While they both say “rookie” on them, only the 1977 is his rookie card.

    I got Silvestri’s auto in 1993 on this card, finished it up with Chipper in 2021, and authenticated in 2022. Just under 30 years in the making!

    Does Chance Caple own the most Topps cards without ever appearing in an MLB game? He appears on 4 Topps / Topps Traded cards for the Cardinals and never got called up.

    Ron Cey has one in ‘72 Dodgers Rookies and then is on the Schmidt rookie in ‘73.
