Re: WTB 1834 Large Cent in PCGS AU-58. Found it.
Be careful of the scammer that periodically messages those wanting to buy an item, letting them know his “friend” has EXACTLY what you want, and giving you his supposed friends email address. Then that “friend” let’s you know to only make payment with PayPal Friends&Family, which as you know strips you of their protection… -
Re: PSA/DNA....A BUNCH OF CLOWNS?????
<< <i>I do also think if an autograph is rejected you should be able to know why they thought it was fake. >> >> Maybe they don't share that info for a reason? If scammers are trying to pull a fast one and PSA told them why they thought it was fake, the scammers may be able to correct it and get one by them. Just a thought. -
Re: Crooked coin dealers headed to FEDERAL pokey
Scammers like this now permeate all levels of our society. My upstairs neighbor is a lower level scammer just like the world of salesmen, doctors, lawyers, ministers and even cops . You have to watch out for everyone these days. No one can be trusted. If their lips are moving they're most likely lying. -
Re: eBay Feedback advice???
The buyer can always force a refund, however they can be limited to up, I think it is, $2000...in the forced refunds where ebay/pay pal pays out. I imagine only 10% if that would make you force them, as the seller has no choice...so an scammer, or more so scammer account is good for about $20,000, maybe up to $40,000. -
Re: Has Anyone Noticed on eBay?
$200 is the correct amount and only winning bidders ID is shown. The bay claims to be making a strong effort to stop scammers. Yeah right! This new policy is an open door for scammers, especially in sports cards and memorabilia. Plus, if you try to warn a bidder before the price hits $200, you are at risk of suspension.… -
Re: Paypal or not-your thoughts and experiences
Paypal is a great great advantage for BUYERS Who protects sellers from scammers?? I want to be fair to all parties but I dont want to be scammed out of my drawers either. Ebay worked great for me before paypal and it worked great 99% of the time when I took paypal but a scammer wore me out for 500.00 and it still… -
Re: Same guy, another scam
Yes, good job reporting this scammer, and I had seen earlier that a scambuster "bought" one of the coins and left an immediate neg with a warning about this seller, and kudos to that scambuster. I realize stopping these ebay scammers is sort of like stepping on red ants in your backyard, they do keep coming, but it still… -
Re: When will PCGS realize that all slabbed coins will require an online picture for verification?

<< <i> << <i>What's to stop the scammer from using PCGS's photo? >> Sure they could. >> My personal favorites are the scammers/sellers that use the PCGS true-view as a generic coin photo and then say you'll get one just like this. It may not match the photo, or even the date, and it may not even be genuine, but it will at… -
Re: The 2009 Proof Silver Eagles Have Been Released....
<< <i>Anybody know how to alert ebay to a scammer at work? >> eBay doesn't care as long as the scammer pays his bills on time. Nothing will happen until the buyers launch negs at him. eBay might suspend him from selling, and since he's not a Power Seller™, they might even think of suspending his account. -
Re: Why do people buy these reprints??
I think a lot of the activity comes from a buyer who thinks they are getting over on the seller...funny how a scammer will ALWAYS find a willing scamee, looking for a free lunch. Unfortunately, until this greedy streak is cured, there will always be a market for scammers. It's been around for as long as money has changed…
