    I love your "junk".

I may have to take a leap into the deep end and pick up a few mint errors myself. Saw a few neat off metal strikes last week that really tempted me.

I wonder how these get out of the mint. Obviously they must be in bags. I think.

Thank you, but I do not believe in luck. I believe in extremely hard work, perseverance, focus, and never settling for good enough only perfection.

Interesting... I too am constantly amazed at these little treasures - and how they escaped

the mint..... we may not know for sure, however, it is either in bulk bags or smuggled.

    Cheers, RickO

These extreme errors like this- which are only barely identifiable as coins- are not my cuppa tea personally, for my own collection, but I must admit they are quite interesting and pretty darn cool.

I opened a bag of 1963 Halves not too long ago and was hoping for a mint error of some kind. But no luck just handfuls of tiny silver shavings, did luck out with $1001 Face in the bag.

I share your sentiments about luck… and that's a lot of imperfect coin junk, though intriguing. Kinda glad those mint employees don't take up those same character traits for quality control. image

And of course with two tours under my belt , we learned to say it's "close enough for government work".
