Nolan Ryan Rookie Picked Up At Local Flea Market- Help With Grade

Picked up this Ryan rookie recently at a card stand at a local flea market. What do you think on the grade? 4? Chance at a 5? No creases or wrinkles or marks that cant be seen.

    I would say 4/5 like you're thinking.

    Solid 5 I'd guess.

I think your estimate is correct, likely 4 with outside chance at a 5. That said, I have a hard time figuring out the 68s with those burlap borders.

Is that a wrinkle on the lower right (as displayed) on the back?

Wrinkle can clearly be seen on the back bottom right near the wins column. Nice card though. I need to get me one of these.
  • Ryan looks like he's about 12 years old there. Lol.

Agreed. Maybe a 3. Still a really nice card

    Yep!

I was hoping I wasn't the only one that saw this.

I think you've got a solid 3, and probably a 3.5 since the wrinkle is on the back and the front is clean and not horribly centered.

Good catch. Totally missed that little wrinkle when i purchased it. Cant be seen unless in a high res scan like this or under a light with a loupe. May have overpaid a little with that wrinkle at $250, but I've made worse buys before.

I'd go with a 4/5 as well. Nice pickup.

Send that out to Ryan's foundation and get him to sign it. It would look great. Very nice card.
