Thanks,

    wht don't you count it?

the problem with scales is they do not measure wear

surely you understand that 400 uncirculated quarters from 1964

will weigh more than 400 circulated quarters from the 30's and 40's

It looks like wildtuxi raped you on eBay
can't you go back and amend your initial feedback for them
and say something like - I changed my mind this guy is a jerk and uses feedback extortion

    Hello!

Isn't this exactly why you need a scale?

wouldn't think a scale would be of too much use if used primarily for 90% silver... it's generally accepted that a bad of $1000 face has 715 ounces of silver... just use some simple math and/or the coinflation website to figure out silver for any other amount face of 90% coins and then you don't need a scale.

I like American Weigh Scale products. However, I use it for weight verification of coins (checking for counterfeits etc), not for bulk sale of silver. Use a good refinery and they will not shortchange you. Cheers, RickO
  • I agree that you shouldn't be weighing these if you want something accurate in terms of number of coins. Weight, sure, then I would recommend getting a scale at least accurate to the gram. 1/10 gram would be nice for discerning 1982 cent types, and eliminating rounding errors for dimes, but wear is seriously going to hurt you face-value-wise if you're just weighing them, especially for dimes due to their low weight to begin with.

Why cause problems? His eBay feedback has zero to do with this thread.

Not trying to cause problems. Making an observation as well as asking a simple question.

My post was not the only one to stray a bit from the original posting.
    I'll come up with something.

    1/100th gram scale 0.01g

    or

    milligram scales 0.001g

i own the gemini-20 it only does a 20gram capacity but is great for cents, nickels, dime and quarters!
  • What's a good one that does ounces?

I don't think you can find a small scale anymore that just has ounce resolution. I have a good digital food scale that does 1/8 oz and 1 gm resolution. $25.

Perhaps just a good coin counting machine would serve your needs better?
