Does Heritage verify authenticity of the coins they sell

or is it possible that some counterfeits have been auctioned off by them?

Is it possible that a fuzzy bear has fur?

Yes it's possible, and yes they have a guarantee. IMHO.

I am sure they would back them up. Plus there are the TPG's
I seldom check PM's but do check emails often jason@seated.org

The TPG's wont "back them up" if the coins and the holders are counterfeit.

Heritage is not ebay. ebay doesn't have subject matter experts. Last I checked, Heritage employed coin experts. --jerry

Considering the sheer volume of coins that Heritage sells, you can be certain a few counterfeits slip through but Heritage will take care of any mistakes since they have a reputation to maintain.
