Bank search of halves- found a BU roll of 86-D Kennedy halves

It's been a while so I decided to do some bank searching of halves for pre-71 silver Kennedys today at a couple of local banks. No silver but I did find a paper-wrapped bank BU roll of 1986-D Kennedy halves. Sadly, I didn't know what I had as I tore open one end and removed a few before seeing that it was an original BU roll from a bank in Michigan.

Anyone know if a BU roll of 86-Ds is worth more than face value?

Thanx,

WF

    Yeah, it's a good date. It's worth around $75.

  • Hey cladking, thanks for the info. I totally forgot to check my Greysheet! Holy mackerel that is a good date. Do you happen to know if it's still sellable to Kennedy collectors in a tube? The majority of the coins are still in the tight paper wrapping but I can transfer them in a tube.

My experience is that buyers don't care but it has to be a nice roll especially in a tube.

Most serious buyers are assembling sets and just can't use inferior coins so will reject
rolls and bunches if there are many bad coins in them.

    Cool pick-up!
The Coin Safe brand square tubes are very roomy. I have all of my Kennedy OBWs in these, although the lids don't quite close completely.
Need the following OBW rolls to complete my 46-64 Roosevelt roll set:
    1947-P & D; 1948-D; 1949-P & S; 1950-D & S; and 1952-S.
Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!

The coins are definitely ChoiceGem so it looks like a really nice roll. Thanks again for the info
