Got my first Lincoln Cent Toner tonight

Our coin club had a mini show for a meeting tonight and I found this one after my good
friend had looked at it and let me buy it instead of him. Now I am a big collector of the
toners and have all kinds of denominations but this is my First Penny and I LIKE IT !!!

I love playihng with the lighting to show of the toners

Very nice, does it have nice luster?
IMO, and JMO, it looks like it has seen blue ribbon, and I think NGC dropped the ball on this one. Although I still like it.

I actually bought a 1916 VERY similar to this one which took a blue ribbon bath and I loved it at the time, I paid quite a bit for the color.
Do you mind giving a ball park figure for the cost of this one?

That's a good one!!I have a 1911 with almost identical colors.MS64 as well.It's in an old PCI slab

Are you sure you don't mean MS70? Blue Ribbon doesn't color coins although it does leave an oily appearance if not rinsed off correctly.

It has very nice luster and lots of blue & purple and might go better grade.
I got it for $25 over ask GS. Hope I didn't pay too much.

That coin is attractive and has a standard look that has been graded for decades. Now they are all labeled as being treated with MS70...which may or may not be the case for many of them. In any regards...based on grading standards over the past 20 years, NGC did not drop the ball as far as grading the coin even with that color. If the grading services change their standards on what is market acceptable in the future and then we see a newly graded one then we can infer that they ignored their own standards or dropped the ball

As it stands today I think you paid a small premium for an attractive coin that it seem you like so I say well played sir
