Parsippany Coin Show report

Today was the monthly Parsippany, NJ coin show. I thought today would be slow as many people were recovering from Baltimore...but I was wrong! The show was PACKED at least until 1:30. In the past, around 12:30 to 1pm, the place emptys out. I saw many large transactions of gold and silver between dealers and customers. It does seem the recession is or already had come to an end.
I got there around 10:15 am, and went right to my favorite dealer, Larry Greenstone aka Seaeaglecoins. We had some business to do, and the entire time I can remember, there were multiple people at his table. Larry mentioned earlier that he was very tired, but it doesn't appear he had any time to rest. After selling Larry some of my silver, I moved on to what I was looking for.......
HOLED US TYPE! For fun, I am working on a Holed US type set. Its fun, relatively cheap, and a true hunt. Most dealers I asked said they don't bring that kind of stuff. I found one dealer, who pulled out an entire case FULL of different holed coins! Dollars, halves, large cents, GOLD, $3 gold, early 1800's bust type! Just amazing stuff. It was the first time he set up, and apparently only had a 1/3d of a table and had to share. I cant remember his name, but he is also a famous antique silver dealer. From him I purchased: a holed 1806 Bust half dollar, a holed bust half, a holed morgan, a nicely toned Morgan, and a piece of silver I sold to Larry
. My other purchases were: A barber silver round, an inexpensive toned Morgan, a toned walker half, and a VF Seated half.
One very interesing thing I saw at a dealers table was a George Washington Eccleston Medal in a NGC slab. This slab is not the usual medal slab you have usually seen, this slab was HUGE. Picture the regular coin slab, and enlarge it 10x! Very cool medal, and slab indeed. Get with the program PCGS!
NOW, the best for last. I was sitting at Tom Hylands table looking at a few coins, when I saw a family, with their young daughter (8 or 9) looking at coins and chatting with Tom. To be friendly, I asked her, What do you collect? To my surprise, she pulled out a Dansco 7070 type album!! She showed me the ones she collected so far, and her parents told me that she is VERY interested in them, and knows quite a bit about them. Her Dad collected and gave her many coins. I have to say, it was SO refreshing to see a YN looking at the show, and truly enjoying these little pieces of our history. The seated half listed above was given to her as a gift. Truly a rare yet refreshing sight at a coin show!
Now for some pics of my newps:
First the 1806 holed Half dollar. This piece was obviously cleaned in the past. What attracted me to it was the amazing detail, especially on the reverse.

1878s NGC MS64 Rainbow Morgan (hard to capture the toning!)

Thats it for now.
