Bay State, quick report

Gee its the show that should be great....given that its in Boston.... however something about it doesnt click... walkin around at 9am dealer opening only a few dealers even bothered to show up that early...most came in closer to public opening 10am.... show had a decent crowd, yet most dealers I spoke to said they were having disappointing sales...blaming the economy... some packed up and left by noon.... Gold bullion dealers were doing decent business.... the vest dealers with same old boring "stuff" were sitting by themselves...not doing much of anything..... a few of the show circuit dealers were doing good business....folks like Millers Mint and Col Butternut...but then again they have great selections and really know coins.... all in all...disappointing to myself...out of there in the afternoon with the time being better spent doing other coin business.... PS: Parking $19 buck in garage...nice!
Oh, on a positive note....they seem to have decent security...saw several guards in various rooms....so I give them credit for that.... my suggestion however would be to move it to a different venue... having all the little rooms, hallways the way they are is just not very good for business...plus Im amazed that they get away with it since it is truly a fire hazard.

<< <i>If they ever held a show with $19 parking here in the Detroit area the public attendance would probably be close to zero. >>
At a place where many people can't even afford to pay for gas for their cars, much less for parking, that doesn't surprise anyone.
The Bay State show in March seems to be a better show than the November show in general, and having this show take place the week after Baltimore doesn't help with attendance. I've attended both the March and November shows before and based on experience the March show is just better.

Obviously I have a colonial bias, but the C4 club related activities aside, I think the November show is significantly busier overall.
ah, that explains so much that we have been puzzled about your comments over the years. No wonder you're so pessimistic!
