I looked at the pic before I was contaminated with your opinion of the grade.... and I graded it the same as you, AU55.

i remember finding some of those old dates years ago but they were always ag3 or fr2

50 obverse, 45 reverse.

i think it's a 50 but i've seen better 50s. could go 45 on a bad day.

From a wear standpoint only it's AU but has some dingers that distract

I agree with Overdate. Better than EF45 but not quite AU50.

The obverse looks AU, but the reverse looks XF.

I understand the EF45 grade. I will say, though, that I do not see the wear of a choice extra fine. I also do not see luster.

My original wag was a mid-AU coin, AU-55. Now after reading the comments, AU-55 is too aggressive.
