thoughts on this piece? my first Half Cent from this series... I had a few better choices but they were cost prohibitive.

I'm not familiar with half cents but that looks nice for the age. 200+ year old coins I like. Don't have any though.

never heard of that... some type of "gulp" cleaner?

i admit it is a bit dirty... which i dont mind... just the green corrosion bugs me... don't like green crud on copper... BUT.. in hand it is no where near as noticable as in this photo.

Deller's Darkener will mask the bright coppery look on your coin to a dark brown look.

That's what I thought it would do but I wasn't sure. It will kind of blend the pink cleaned area down to what it should look like.

Nice spiked chin half cent

Looks like the 1804 C-8 Variety, an R-1 rarity.
Die state appears to be state 1.0 which is rare. If there is a light die crack from the top of the "R" in "AMERICA" to the rim, then it's die state 2.0 which is common.
That's a nice type set addition
