A Brisvegas (Brisbane , Australia for the unintiated) dealer had an auction on the weekend, picked up these babies.

1885 Sydney Mint Sovereign, reverse prooflike with obverse showing some humdinger die cracks

Been chasing a sov from this period for a while, this is a nice low numbered set, with the Peace Dove on the 2 pounds.

Also picked up a very nice 1939 Australian Shilling, was a most productive little trip.

YUP, i'll echo the other's comments. all of the coins you bought are beautiful. The Dove Sovereign is one i had a chance to see recently. It is really quite beautiful in it's simple artistic way. If i recall, it commerates the end of WWII? thanks for sharing!

The Sovereign is stunning. Wait till that little Rodent gets a peak of it; he might have to start searching the pews down under for some better material!!

PS: I wonder what it would grade? At least a 66, maybe 67?
