You are redoing the Red Book. Name a Coin You would ADD

The thread regarding delisting coins is excellent. I never was aware there were that many issues that are kind of listed, maybe not in error, but certainly needlessly.
Now, are there coins that should be listed that are not?

    This will be fun:

    - Fix the varieties listed for Mass Silver (a lot of additions and subtractions)

    - Update William Wood's coinage with information about obvious proof issues

    - Pricing info for pewter Rhode Island Ship Tokens

    - Regulated Gold

    - The Standish Barry Doubloon

    - 1783 Unity States "Triple Leaf" reverse Washington token

    - 1793 1C Wreath w/Plain Edge

    - 1875-S 20C Proof

    - 1855-S 25C Proof

    - 1855-S 50C Proof

    - 1921 S$1 Chapman Proof

    - 1921-S S$1 Zerbe Proof

    - 1855-S $3 Proof

    - 1854-S $20 Proof

    - Known Proof (not specimen) Classic Commems

    - "1837" 3C Feuchtwanger w/ reverse of 1864

I'm sure there are many, many others

Circulating varieties... ...Lots of them but especially the more dramatic ones and those which can actually be found but are tough.

The Fugio cent should be moved to the beginning of the regular large cent listing.

The Cal Gold section needs a complete makeover and illustrations. The reader should be presented with a visual approach to collecting a meaningful type set.

    Cherie agrees with you.

Then Cherie should lay it out and present it to Ken Bressett.

Gee, I think my most recent red book is 10 or 20 years old now; so I don't know what has changed. If prooflike Morgans are not represented still, they should be. All of the varieties that PCGS used to attribute before their VAM service started also should be there at a minimum. The 1964 SMS coins too. With an aluminum cent now slabbed, that might be a red book candidate if it isn't there already.

    Why? They're medals, not coins.

I would add the 1955 Bugs Bunny 50c and I would augment, with a separate listing, the 1964 proof 10c "pointed 9" variety (currently it's just a foot note).

Why? It's a British product struck in the 1820's.

<< <i> Pricing info for pewter Rhode Island Ship Tokens >>

I suggested removing the RI token as it is a medal and not a coin.

<< <i>The Fugio cent should be moved to the beginning of the regular large cent listing. >>

I can agree with that since they were the first authorized US coin.

I think it is in my best interest not to answer this question, until I accumulate a number of the special varieties that I believe belong in the REDBOOK.
I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.
