Maybe the seller forgot to remove it from his Ebay store before having it listed on Teletrade. image

    Thanks.

I've seen this seller before on eBay. He has some high quality stuff.

I just want to mention that Frank's Tutorial Series played a pivotal role in buying this coin. That and the Red Book value for a 1951-D in MS65 was $200.

Very nice example and if you paid ms65 dollars for it you did well, its a much better then average 65.

IMO, there might be just enough hits on the Bell to prevent it from being in a 66 holder. But I think it's a solid 65 in anyone's slab.

BTW SB, thanks and welcome to the forum!!!

    Very nice looking coin,

I have seen 66s with more hits.

FYI I paid about $200 for my PCGS 65 FBL

That's a very strong PQ 65 with a razor sharp strike. Good eye appeal too. I think that would be a 66 candidate easily.

The E-Bay seller is Stateline coin, you might want to drop Steve an E-Mail and let him know.
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

  • I might decide to cross it to PCGS. Problem is I don't have membership.

    Suggestions?

    Hmmmm........

This coin from the images looks wonderful to me for a 51D...

The 51D Franklin is amongst the strongest of strikes in the series.. and yours is very very hamered! As I would expect. Yours has a very solid 'Pass and Stow'.....

Also, quality control was a huge issue with the 51D..... and the majority of these coins are baggy..... And many of the PCGs coins in GEM that I have seen or
personally made, have had a few more hits on them then typical MS65 does...

Yours appears to have very few marks....... a Solid example....

You have you a nice coin there sir.....Enjoy the series!

  • It's a nice coin.

But that gentleman from Stateline is a smart cookie and if it had upgrade potential, it would have already been in a six holder.
