United States Gold Patterns - David Akers - at the risk of sounding like a schoolboy, does Mr. Aker's book have a lot of pretty pictures - I am not so interested in the technical aspects as the pictorial - thank you - any overall comments on the book most appreciated...

    The book contains full color photos of all of the gold patterns in the Wilkison collection and from the Smithsonian, as well.
    PNG member, numismatic dealer since 1965. Operates a retail store, also has exhibited at over 1000 shows.
    I firmly believe in numismatics as the world's greatest hobby, but recognize that this is a luxury and without collectors, we can all spend/melt our collections/inventories.

    Excellent book. The standard work on the subject (OK, Judd is pretty important too), and with lots of eye candy.
