How's the market for gold coins doing?
Just read the Hartford show report which said that gold wasn't really moving.
I was curious if others were observing the same or if Hartford was atypical. Is the market for gold cooling?
Anybody and everybody please share your thoughts.
Oh, please identify yourself as either a dealer, collector, or Ferengi.

Hmmm.... I clicked the link after I replied. This is the one I was talking about. Pretty cool that other forum members are watching.
I wonder if this would have done better if I used my new camera instead of the computer scanner....... Oh well.
Was looking for a few gold type coins in MS-62 grade and was not able to find anything where I thought they should be.....
Going to wait a bit to get the cash flow back up and try again in a bit.....
coins. this has lead to competition and higher prices.
the gold coin mentioned above on ebay was bought by someone
with a feedback rating of 7...
he was probably sick of snipers taking away the good coins,
so he made sure he won it. to a newbie, what is another 25-50
dollars for a coin you want? pockets full of cash with a big
adreniline rush when you win!
Or an "oldbie".
I can't see a small gold coin priced at 4000 bucks going to 8000 because gold goes up. It only has about 200 bucks gold in it. So the current prices are very dependent upon the financial stability of the collector base and if you read any economic info you'll know that most of America is in debt up to the eyeballs and a lot of it is in ARM mortgages.
I'd but the prices will be much better in 24-48 months
and actually takes action on it...
is when i will sell my gold collection. so hey, i am never selling!
<< <i>Generic gold disappears in rising market and comes out by the buckets when it starts to fall. Most "rare" gold in MS is not rare at all. Look at the pop reports for MS64 libs etc. Depending on the direction of the market, you could get killed buying in now or you might do OK in a rising market. But as far as making a big killing, don't expect it, most gold has already had a huge appreciation factor priced in.
