Agree with Coinlt. - Bust quarters are indeed hot. I sold all mine and am now having a hard time replacing them.

  • I think MS65, MS64 and MS63 saints are still a great buy. That is because I think gold has some more climbing to do.

I sat at a mainly currency table over the weekend in Baltimore, so this may be a bit biased by the clientel, but I saw a lot of activity in higher grade type notes...mainly the large size stuff. As for coins, I didn't see anything unusual, save an offloading of a very top-grade group of Liberty nickels, and a lot of activity in lot viewing of a heck of a group of toned coins at the Superior table. I'm guessing the toned coin fever is catching on across the board and is no longer considered a specialty.

Error coins are getting really big lately. That lousy Lincoln 55DD for example has gone up double in the last year. I just went to a coin show today and many of the dealers were big into error coins. One dealer had hundred of them, some slabbed most not. I've seen him before and his prices are almost double from just a few months ago it seams. There were a few people at that table saying how they collect error coins. Books like "Looking Through Lincolns" that lists so many errors is the type of book that is creating this error coin value increase. Also the Red Book is now listing more and more of error coins. I predict that the next big boom in coin values will be error coins.

Generic gold in all denoms from $2-1/2 to $20's. I sold a number of pieces today. Guess pickings were slim at Baltimore other than 64/65 saints. I was attacked by 4 dealers today as soon as I came into the show. Didn't expect or want to sell any of it and moved about 20 pieces. The 1910 $10 in MS64 was one I was hoping to have around a bit longer. But I replaced it with some killer silver type that is not "hot" now.

I just had to get back here. I never paid attention to albums too much til I joined these boards and read about this Dansco 7070 album. An album with every type coin in the U.S. is what I suspect it is. So I did a search on ebay and lo and behold, in my opinion, this is definitely HOT. I never would have guessed so many cleaned, rubbed, worn out coins in an album could be so HOT (all raw). So now , with about 25 minutes to go it is 1800 dollars plus ? REAL HOT ! ( no , I am not selling it image)
