Just watched highlights from the Sun Belt Championship game. Interesting that a game from that conference had snowballs being thrown. It was entertaining but the winner amounts to little more than a sacrificial lamb in the CFP playoff. The American Championship was a little better since the talent level was higher, especially the Tulane defense.

Just watched some different shows analyzing the games today and the "panel" at ESPN seems to be stressed about the possibility that Alabama might be left out of the playoff. They presented a reasonable argument(that I agree with) but it's funny to watch "the SEC network" getting worked up when their teams fail. Along with the media anxiety surrounding Notre Dame and Miami(Fla), the SEC Championship game seems to be the one with the most fans on the edge of their couches.
The game which has me most anxious is of course the Ohio State vs. Indiana matchup. The two teams are safe and barring the most improbable of outcomes should remain at 1-2. At worst, one team will be 1st and the other somewhere in the top 4 with a bye in round one. Watching the multitude of shows about this game it seems clear that it's most important to Hoosier fans while Buckeye fans really are seeing it as another game, certainly important but not critical. I get that sentiment, Indiana has worked hard to get where they are and this is the next step forward.
The other big game involves BYU vs. Texas Tech. If BYU pulls a rabbit outa their hat like I think they will it might keep that CFP committee up into the wee hours of the night trying to sort out the mess created!!! I love it when the script doesn't go according to plan. Like Clint Eastwood said in "Heartbreak Ridge" we sometimes have to Improvise, Adapt and Overcome. So it is with College Football which is why I seem to enjoy so much more than the pro game.

Close, low scoring game in the Big 12, seems like a waiting game for one of the teams to blow it open. Probably Texas Tech by the way things have been going. They seem to be able to move the ball but not really score.

Texas Tech earned their way in after that loss a few weeks ago. Like I say, late season losses are the most damaging but that one didn’t hurt the Raiders much.

Morton was out against ASU.. and that game was in October... it's December now. I get the feeling you haven't watched the Red Raiders much this season. They've been pretty dominant. Ding em all you want but let's see what happens here.

Texas Tech in complete domination, it helped that BYU couldn't hang on to the ball of course
On to Georgia vs Alabama!
This is the game that decides whether the Vikings draft Simpson or not.
I'm impressed with Simpson after the Auburn game, that kid took a beating and played very well
I'm sure people will say "It was Auburn" but it's still high level football, the kid deserves respect imo
I don't follow it enough but is he better than Mendoza?
I keep hearing that this draft is weak on QB's but you never know who is going to be good at the next level, I thought Stroud was going to be a bust but he is doing well
Tech is legit. they'd be undefeated if Morton hadn't gotten hurt. they've never, ever been known for their defense, so what they are doing on that side of the ball is unexpectedly special. it's the reason why they're so much more than an 8-5 team that scores 40 points a game......which is what they usually are.
i wouldnt want any part of them come playoffs time
Minnesota would be wise to pass on Simpson. There are too many non QB’s this year, blue-chippers, who can help a team. No reason to squander a high pick on Simpson but I bet someone does.

The Auburn thing is just people looking at records. They have several NFL players on that defense
Simpson has played significantly harder competition than Mendoza and Mendoza is also left handed which messes up the line. Is he better than him yes, but I would trade down and make them someone elses problem if theyre the best QB on the board
to be clear there. I was making fun of the Vikings by saying they should consider Simpson. I don't think Simpson really projects to a NFL QB. He's not a bad QB - inconsistent sure. He's a bit small. He will get drafted, but Mendoza is the only QB I see making much sense early. I would rather go with Morton in a later round than look at Simpson or Moore. Morton has some things to sort out in his game... he does try to force some passes at times and he's a 1-2, roll progression guy right now (like McCarthy..). But he's solid in the pocket and has a great arm. Rolling to the right he's a problem for defenses.
@perkdog, you have my sympathies but it’s still funny!!
Ty Simpson has been overrated all season just as the ‘Tide has been, now the chickens have come home to roost at exactly the wrong time. At the present Simpson’s line is an unremarkable 7/15/66/0/1 and Alabama is playing themselves out of the Playoff.
It isn’t what I think should happen but if the game continues as is it’ll be hard to fault that Committee.

Simpsons having one of his terrible games again but the play calling is insane to not even attempt to stretch the field. DeBour has been a coward. That int was a really nice play by GA though

I don't blame any of you for laughing lol
I gave Simpson praise before the game and he has fell flat on his face, Georgia is tough and I guess they are not "Auburn" lol
Georgia was due to beat them but it's not over yet
Georgia and Bama basically never go 2-0 against each other in the same season and yes Bama deserves to be in the playoffs. This is literally a playoff level game

Bama has been too inconsistent all year. Bad loss to FSU, and have not played well in the last month. I think most people would rather see Miami get in over Bama.

Naw, Miami deserves to be in over ND not Bama. The ACC is going to have 1 playoff team and possibly none if Duke wins. Bama played in the SEC championship and punishing them for doing so is just absurd
Totally disagree. They just got destroyed by 3 touchdowns. They barely beat a bad Auburn team and got beat by Oklahoma on their field. They are not a playoff team. After what went down tonight, I think it will be a easy decision for the Committee.
I would prefer ND and Texas over Bama, but let's be real... BYU sucks and Bama doesn't suck. Miller was out. They had no running game. Georgia played great on defense but Bama wasn't BYU bad.

BYU never was getting in inless they beat TT. 11 and 12 were both out. Tulane being the G5 team was kicking one out, and either UVA Duke or JMU was kicking the other out as the top 5 conference champions have to be in
My initial reaction is that both QB’s have been affected by the defensive line pressure which neither has really seen all season. The difference will probably be who makes adjustments and plays error free in the second half.

The "wild west" of NIL and college football, IMHO, deserves a larger playoff.
Change creates opportunity & chnage has never been more prevalent.
As such, I'd like to see more teams given the opportunity to compete in the new "postseason/playoffs".

Bama getting flat-out dominated on every snap
and they've thrown a pick and they had a kick blocked
that's the recipe for getting boatraced

Get to.watch the second half!!
So this thread does have the potential for greatness! 😂
So you regulars really aren’t going to let basebal forget that one are you? That’s classic! I just watched him throw a long bomb right handed. 🥳
Mendoza is so good he just threw a TD pass with his right hand 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
There are two people in this world that I refuse to "get into it" with.
If he says he's left handed then he's left handed. Check your mirrors.
Basebal’s next step instead of admitting he’s wrong will be to try to contact Mendoza to give him left handed throwing lessons.
I’m glad this is a good game! 🥳
Indiana's D is playing like crazed lunatics
OSU cannot run the ball
