Next time you may need to pony-up just a tad more to stay in the mix.
Very true lol, my bid was just a contingency bid i placed like a month ago if it sold unusually cheap for some reason, I really had no intention of winning.
When I truly want something, someone's planning on a loooong-term relationship if they make me into the underbidder.
I decided to send my girl away to be graded along with a army and laser privy eagles. I figured it would be easier for my heirs to sell some day. Got my pics and grade today. Needless to say I am happy with the results. Here she is, now forever entombed and protected:

What moron would sell a highly sought after coin like the privy Au FH on eBay?
Something is very fishy here.
edited to add: especially an original PCGS graded PR70DCAM.
This is now the 3rd time in the last couple of months that the same coin has been offered up for auction on eBay. All got no further than 20k or so, all ended/deleted. I reported one of the fake listings a month ago.
In each case they use the exact same photographs(2 of them) that were stolen from the original, legit seller - BTRCCOIN. https://www.ebay.com/itm/267296656793
It's a sham, a fraud perpetrated by a scammer who hacks into eBay accounts, lists the coin with the same two pics, and attempts to steal money. Rinse & repeat, beware!
Only around 70 available on eBay now. The cheapest available is a raw one for $5600. Most are well over 6k now. The original price from the Mint was $3640. This one was a HUGE winner! They went on sale 11/14/24. Not even a year ago! Seems like 10 years ago now.

in 10 years, will it be 27,000 ?
Dunno, but lots of folks, right here on this very forum, didn't even think it would be that high today.
The simple fact is that there will never be more than 230 of them. Moderns from the Mint with far higher mintages, and graded pops far higher than however many Gold FH privy 70s exist, have sold for more than $47,000, let alone $27,000, so there is honestly no reason to be asking the question.
People could lose interest in anything at any time. OTOH, in 10 years, gold could be worth $50K per ounce, and these could be worth $500K. Who knows?
All that's really relevant is what they are worth today. Which is far more than many here thought possible. At the time of the auction, immediately after the auction, and now a year after the auction.
"In 10 years" is unknowable right now. Let's reconvene in 10 years. My money is on them being worth far more than $27K, given that it is worth around double that now, and that the population is known and will never be higher.

In 10 years an ounce of gold bullion will be worth over $100k.
Lmao. If that's true, bread will be $1000 per loaf.
Where do you get that from? You might need to break out your calculator.
$100K is 25x $4K. Does bread sell for $40 per loaf today?
Sure, anything that sells for $40 today might very well sell for $1K in a world of $100K gold, but that is hardly shocking.
The average price of a new car is over $50K today. Once upon a time, that number was also around 1/25 as high.
It was a JOKE, not a calculation. [BTW, does a car cost 2x what it cost last year? Are you predicting that a car will cost 25x as much in 10 years?]
I think I'm going to return to not responding to you. I know you miss it when I don't, but I don't feel like arguing over everything. And, yes, you are the one who picks the arguments. [If you can call "everything" an actual selection.]

The Mint release price for the non-privy version was $3,640.

He is saying that the 11/14/25 issue price of $3,640 (non-privy) < current spot for an ounce of gold.
gotcha

What are the bright gold areas on the coin between stars four and five as well as twelve through fourteen?
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
Thats just glare, the dies seem to be convex with these RP gold high reliefs. It gives them that bowl-glimmer that rolls in the light.

Anybody see this no reserve auction on eBay for Privy 132: https://www.ebay.com/itm/286821197290?_skw=2024+flowing+hair+pr70&itmmeta=01K5AFKJ8FJG4Q3V7J87Q3N9GA&hash=item42c7e025ea:g:09EAAeSwA~Jox3Xj&itmprp=enc:AQAKAAAA0FkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1dix++v47sWUbToOpdGYR0PCv7cwa2BOxnGBOOAM6mxAQhNyN7hAUjt62i6ilPlog7+4BpwNEgdsqW0Acl+LnYSqvYrMK9MwxkGDlYZoNNVEd8ThlXC8Rqr4YYpzcMONvID0tfY0Yw4coTaww4sT/e0gN3G28aEbvmBx2WqBzaCrwX2pFhEmSgQzEVMzT3EhbtLoYNCq07J3TL6ePk+HnGidc33MscBohQ5r3R011VL3shM2pdFzD+EumgMhhNuTJg=|tkp:Bk9SR8Ckzs-qZg

Hard to believe it's legit, based on the price, the seller, the seller feedback, and the other things the seller sells.

I guess they found a few sitting around?..

I would guess that they did the final audit on sales and that is the final total. It is usually completed about a year after sales end.

43 minutes to go.
Not a bad night for sure.
Excellent night for a 69 non-privy example.
Wow on the privy 70
what were non-privy 69s going for in jan/march?

I believe in the mid $4k's.........please someone correct me on this.
i found it from January with 1 click
if only i had better luck with this week's football games
You found 70s, not the 69s that were asked for.
not 69's but an idea giiver
ngc, but still a 69
issue was 3640? even a 69 has a good return
Agreed, the Mint really gave us collectors a 'golden' opportunity.
Mintage still shown as 17,500, however the product limit is 10,000.
Will the Mint eventually adjust the mintage to 10k to reflect the actual mintage.
Are there 7,500 Au FH's hiding in some vault?
Stay tuned.
vault?
i think they are now tokens in the mint's games
How would the return compare against a generic MS63 Saint purchased at the same time? My guess is not as good.
http://ProofCollection.Net
That's a big price to pay ~70K for a 70DCAM.
Correct. That's the deal with numismatic coins. The premium to spot collapses as spot rises.
The same thing happened with generic MS63 Saints $3,000 ago.
OTOH, the converse is true, and you have downside protection if spot declines.
Can you tell us which ones ? I'm not familiar with them, thanks.
1995-W proof ASE, for starters.
Its also priced at $3840!!
Obviously it's showing the original mintage at 17500 because that particular page hasn't been updated since gold spot price was at $2800 +/-
