Not you. That notice went to dealers who received them through the ABPP program ahead of the release that was then postponed. Notice the deadline to return them.

Did I not state before that coins were for sale then pulled from website. ABPP buyers discovered quality issues and convinced the mint to do something about it. That caused presale change. 10,000 additional coins were held back for replacements for the ABPP as replacements. As I also stated all sales show up at some point in the ATS and this is the 10,000 that showed up and immediately disappeared during the 7:30 boot up. now comes the big questions. How many will be scrapped,? what will the final sold mintage be? How many orders will get cancelled? Stay tuned as there will be a lot of twists and turns as this all plays out.

So does this make them hot now that ABPP maybe returned a bunch? Sales on Pure have been stagnant.

It doesn't really change anything UNLESS the ABPP buyers have to/ want to go on the open market to get replacement. If Pure is stagnant, you already know the answer.

Do you have info from the Mint about these 10k coins, or are you surmising this based on your earlier theory about the 10k sellout at 7:30? Genuinely asking.

One thing has nothing to do with the other. We have no idea what was returned, or whether what was returned will be replaced. They have not yet been released.

Either way, they were, have been, and will continue to be "hot" based on the demand for the other two. Sales on Pure have been stagnant because Pure sellers don't know what they are going to receive, and are embargoed from selling what they already have that has not been returned. These are "hot" now, and will only be more so if the final mintage ends up being significantly less than 100K.

I wouldn't worry about demand down the road, at least for awhile. You have multiple levels of demand from privy collectors, veterans and family members, ASE and semisesquicentennial collectors.

Just another cover up mint story. Will the final release be explosive or a dud? LoL

Hey the last director of the mint started all of this. :)

Actually based on the likelihood that the mint letter said replacements would be available for the ABPP and that Quantity would have to appear then disappear in the ATS number. Again this is a qualified assumption based on known facts.
The actual sales, who received them and when can only be proved with a detailed sales register of all transactions which we will never see.

My Marine Corps coin was just canceled by the US Mint… I just received an email for an order sent to one of my friends addresses

I wonder is this related to the issues that the mint is having with this coin, and if they are going to be canceling all of them (which sounds like a disaster) or are they just canceling a certain percentage of coins that were already purchased/verified?

The purge has begun. The mint director will be spinning that Mint Shipping Wheel to see who gets lucky and who gets cancelled.

    No.

For all extra mint orders that I have sent to friend’s addresses, I use all separate Mint logins, separate addresses, and separate credit card numbers.

I try to stay within the Mint’s roles and restrictions and this has allowed me to order above the HHL on many occasions with no issues.

I’m not a flipper per se, but I do flip in order to pay for my own purchases… I play by the Mints rulebook, to my advantage.

Yes, separate billing addresses as well.

This can be accomplished by having tru and trusting friends & family who let you use their address, credit card and log on.
Same as all the dealers and bigger flippers and clubs do.

I don't flip to make money - I flip extra Mint purchases to allow others to help contribute/pay for my Mint purchases!
I provide a service to others in need that benefits my own collecting habit!

The one order that I had, that was cancelled, has its own Mint User Account, separate mailing address, and a credit card/address that goes to the person I had the coin sent to.

This particular user account has not had any US Mint order issues or cancellations in the past.

I'm at a loss as to why this particular account had its order cancelled and yet I'm not seeing anyone else listing cancellations - I figured I couldn't have been the only one w/a cancelled order (but here we are).

Imagine if I had only one coin on order and it got cancelled - I'd be out....thus another reason to justify having multiple accounts, friends, etc to play the Mint's games...

When did you place it? If it was one of the last ones in, that might explain it, while everyone is looking for a HHL violation explanation.

Also, the e-mail could just be a mistake. Did you go into your order history and confirm that the order was, in fact, canceled?

All of my order(s) were made within the first 15 or so minutes of the sale start. I had multiple browsers, computers, and smartphones working. I've seen a couple of other places (ex. Son of a Silver Stacker-YouTube) mention cancelled orders for this Marine Corps Privy coin.

As to viewing the order history page, I actually had not for this particular user account but did tonight and unfortunately, it was showing cancelled there, in addition to the e-mail rcvd. Maybe it's a good thing for others that I might just be in some unlucky group of cancellations - in order to provide backup replacement coins to the big boys after they reported the issues with this Privy and were not happy that they were about to get screwed by the Mint on this issue.

All my other orders are safe as this time...let's hope it stays that way for me and everyone else.

There are many different filters. The US Mint could use, but an IP address would not be a good one…
Because many users could share the same public facing IP without even realizing it…

Ex. hidden behind a large company/corporate firewall or even two users sitting at the public library using different computers. The IP traffic the Mint sees would be the same - IP’s are further distinguished behind a public IP.
