Portland, OR - PNNA Coin show this weekend!

MeltdownMeltdown Posts: 9,029 ✭✭✭✭✭

Who's going?
I'll be there set up & playing dealer for the weekend with a friend and fellow forum member...
It's a great annual show put on by my local coin club and always has a strong selection of unique coins & west coast dealers!
New location this year right near the Oregon/Washington border... Hoping some of my Seattle friends on here make the trip.

I’m on the other coast but I did go to Reed College in Portland in 1993. Beautiful place back then. Wouldnt mind seeing multnoma falls again or the Deschutes River…or a coin show. Maybe some day.

As much as I hate to Hi-Jack my own thread, I just got back from 4 days fishing, floating and camping the banks of the Deschutes. 47 river miles total... lot's of big wild trout and even landed my first native steelhead.

That sounds like a great trip. As I recall, if you miss the last takeout in that River you go over a 20 foot waterfall !

Good show, lots of the usual players, a few new ones. The error coin exhibition was super fun, and the local to the PNW tokens were cool too.

I only transacted with one vendor - west coast coins, I think I do every year with Revick and company - this year I traded a Merc dime proof I upgraded for a new to me 1902-S Morgan in MS-63 - I don't think I have a reason to go back again tomorrow unless I find some cash in the couch tonight.

I had a great time on day one! Lot's of interesting collectors to talk with and a bunch of local dealers I enjoy catching up with. I'm neighbors with @2windy2fish and he's as cool as they get.
Hope to see some folks tomorrow!

I think the Willamette Coin Club has found a new home for its annual show.
Considering that this is off the first exit upon entering Oregon from Washington is a big plus for WA dealers, too.

It was a fun weekend for me. I do the show once a year and just "play dealer". There was a lot of regular folks looking for coins and I had really strong sales with a lot of good conversations... learned quite a bit about the whatnot live auction craze. The volume those nutjobs need to keep feeding the beast is insane! I sold over $2500 to just two guys walking around buying up alll kinds of stuff...

Here's a couple quick shots from Saturday.

And... finally sitting on the couch looking at a few of my buys from the weekend with my lazy ol' dog.

Nutjobs?? Hey now, at least we’re buying real coins!! Haha, thanks again for some good coins! 😉
