I got this Barber dime in a coin lot I bought.
The size is smaller along with weight. The obverse and reverse look normal. Please view the photos and let me know your thoughts. Here are the specifications of this Barber Dime, a circulated, and Mint specifications to compare.
Weight Diameter Thickness
1907 (??) 0.97 g 16.6 mm 0.4 mm
1911 2.48 g 17.7 mm 1.0 mm
Mint specs 2.50 g 17.9 mm 1.35 mm

My questions: any idea how a dime was minted so thin and survive 118 years without being folded in 2 or bent? Was the dime planchette this thin when it was sent into circulation by the mint? Is this coin worth sending to a TPG as an error coin? Also, there may be other question that I have thought about too. Thaks in advance for your thoughts and for viewing this thin weird Barber dime.

What caused the dime to lose weight from the center and not from the wear on the obverse and the reverse?
