Captured in a high relief 2 oz silver coin with select gilding, color and genuine Swarovski crystal inset, this is the 2023 Lady Flame, dedicated to the Egyptian Goddess Sekhmet.

The obverse presents the Niue Coat of Arms, the year of issue and the legal tender value of five dollars.

Backstory:

Sekhmet was one of the most powerful Egyptian deities, known as both a healing and warrior goddess. The character and destiny of Sekhmet were reflected in her appearance: across ancient Egyptian history she was portrayed as a lion-headed woman. The coin shows the goddess in profile, early hieroglyphs on a golden background, and a cat, which is an important symbol in Egyptian culture.
