Nice, I remember seeing Hank Aaron play in Milwaukee County Stadium. We got free tickets from hometown boy John DeMerit who bought my dad's first house from him. Johnny D was also on the Braves.

    That Spahn is a beauty!

"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

PM sent -- and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

I'd like to apologize to everyone that put in a claim for a card. I've never gotten such a response from a B/S/T post like I did from this one.

Immediately upon posting the thread I received two PMs -- one person saying they'd take the '60 Gibson and another person saying they were interested in the entire lot and could we work out a discount.

I explained that the '60 Gibson had already been bought but then offered the remaining cards at a price I felt was fair for both of us. This was literally just minutes after the thread went live.

I put my phone away as, in my previous experiences, you usually just get a nibble or two in the first few hours. When I followed up a few hours later I had received dozens of PMs from people saying "I'll take it!" on just about all of the cards and multiple claims on the same card.

I contacted the person I had provided an offer to on the whole lot and explained to them that, while I wasn't pressuring them, I had received numerous requests for cards but since I had made an offer to them first I would honor that offer and give them right of refusal.

Meanwhile, more and more requests for the cards came in. The buyer, to their credit, responded in a timely fashion once I explained the circumstances and confirmed that they would want to purchase the entire lot. This was late in the evening (at least for me) and so I didn't have time to respond individually to each purchase request.

I apologize for any frustration or inconvenience this ha caused anyone. I hope that folks can understand that when someone inquires about a group of cards and I provide a discounted offer, that offer stands until the person decides one way or another. I feel like this is the honorable thing to do and I think if anyone here were in their shoes they would want me to honor any offer on the table that I presented you.

I know how frustrating it can be to find "the" card and miss out on it though so I don't blame anyone for having hard feelings. I honestly just tried to do what I thought was the right thing to do and then ran out of time to properly explain the circumstances to the few dozen people by PM.

Thank you to everyone who has purchased cards from me, be it this batch or any of my previous ones. It is a point of pride for me that buying, selling, or trading cards should NOT be a zero sum game. I would rather lose a little money and have a happy customer than milk every penny out of every card and not be someone that perpetuates a sense of joy and community in our hobby.

I hope those that missed out can understand my point of view and don't hold it against me.
