I suppose the choice of what to do with unnecessary funds directed to help employees and the local community depends on ones moral compass.

I thought these payments were meant to help businesses keep workers on payroll through loss of revenue due to the virus. If their revenue isnt severely impacted do they still get to keep the money? Seriously flawed system if so, but also shame on the scumbags stealing taxpayer dollars away from those who really need it.

Let’s say you own a small to medium size business. With the Payroll protection plan you will receive a large cash inflow to cover payroll. But if you own a business that is still working for customers you are getting paid for payroll already. I’ve got friends that have received close to a half million dollars, and about 10 friends in $50-250 thousand range that are all going strong yet business wise. That is a lot of cash slushing around for hobbies and big boy toys. Anyone in construction, car dealers, grocery stores ect are still going.

Plus the $1,200 checks going out to individuals for some it is just extra cash. Personally I have been able to still make a few purchases in auctions and from a dealer or two. Nothing large as I am trying to protect my cash and debit situations just in case it goes full blown depression.

Sticking trillions of dollars into the system should help the people that purchase high end collectibles. On the low end game consoles and TVs should fly off the shelves when the checks come in.

I think the economic impact is far greater than indicated here. I don't think there will be a run on high end collectibles or hobbies as a result of the PPP Dollars.

Reading here that companies not affected by this pandemic are getting huge loans which could turn into grants saddens me.

I hope they will list which companies were aided through the Care Act so those who took advantage of the program can be boycotted.

I think this pandemic will have far greater financial repercussions. Our system could fail, it may need a reboot, or take years to repair, not a time for cash slushing around for hobbies and big boy toys.

If you live in Michigan you can’t buy seeds now.

Really? I am in Michigan and didn't know that. We can't use motorized boats for some reason. So I cant take my family on a cruise around the lake.

    Happy Easter!

I typically refrain from much talk of truth/politics/conspiracy on this site.

Sadly, there are things hinted at in this thread which are true.

And the info about seeds touches on ideas which are best not discussed here other than in private.

They don’t want people going to stores outside of getting food, cleaning stuffs and medical supplies period. So the Home Depot’s, Walmart’s etc can only sell those products as well......they don’t want people leaving their houses let alone congregating or spending an hour shopping up and down aisles in a big box store
