Red Sox and Cubs both ending historic World Series droughts.

New York Giants ruin New England’s perfect season

And my personal favorite story, the Rams, with their grocery clerk QB, win their first Super Bowl, capping a remarkable worst-to-first turnaround.

Bonds shatters Hank Aaron's home run record, splitting baseball fans into a generational chasm as to whether the record is legit and if Barry belongs in the HOF.

The Toronto Raptors bringing home the prize.

That 2002 college football national championship game was a doozie. Miami going for their 2nd straight title. They started to celebrate, thinking they had it. The referees huddled. Pass interference. The rest is history. Heartbreaker for Miami.

2019 St. Louis Blues winning the Stanley Cup after being in last place in January, and with an interim coach and mid-season call up rookie goalie

Not only did they com back from 0-3, which is the first and only time, but then the swept the Cardinals in the WS. That's 8 wins in a row folks. It will be a while before that is done again...….if ever.

Not legit at all. Hank still has the record!

You guys have already brought up some great ones, so I am going to go a little bit outside the box here.
Leicester City at 5000-1 odds becoming Premier league champions.
St. Louis Blues in season going from worst record in NHL to Stanley Cup champs with an interim coach and rookie goalie.
The unbelievable ways the Saints got bounced out of the playoffs the last two years, first by Minnesota and the LA Rams.
The Detroit Lions in 2008 (leeway here) and the Cleveland Browns of 2017 both going 0-16 for the season.
The Philadelphia 76ers stealing top 3 picks every year by tanking and forcing the NBA to change the draft odds/order format
The Washington Capitals after years of playoff futility finally winning the Stanley Cup.
And most of the good baseball stories have already been listed.

Tom Brady going from being a nobody back up all the way to becoming the GOAT

I am biased but my favorite is the Denver Broncos getting blown out by Seattle in the 2014 Superbowl after a regular season where the offense was high scoring. The team revamped and won the 2016 Superbowl over Carolina with one of the best defenses ever.

Another favorite was watching the GS Warriors go on a run of 5 straight trips to the NBA finals, winning three titles, while playing so.e of the most fast paced, entertaining, team oriented basketball (on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor) I have ever seen.

When the 2019 NHL playoffs started the Tampa Bay Lighting were favored to win the Stanley Cup over the entire field of NHL teams. Even when they were down 3 games to 0 Vegas had them at almost a 50% chance to still win and get out of the first round. They lost their first round series 4 games to 0 to the #8 seed Columbus Blue Jackets. I can't recall a team so heavily favored plunging into the abyss like that.
