You see a lot of fake 3 leaguers on eBay but never one like this! Wonder if anyone will take the bait?
You can see this live in eBay by cutting and pasting the following number into the eBay search line 362484196490
just do a search on the number and you will be taken right to the auction. This is a new seller with only 6 feedbacks.

By examining known varieties and appreciating the stark differences. This was an amputation. Peace Roy

Could this be tampered with, I would not do business with Littleton, but have not known them to sell fakes?
Wow... that one is so obvious... Probably the Littleton bag has been opened and resealed. Cheers, RickO
... or ... what if the Chinese are now branching out to counterfeiting 'well-known' holders beyond the TPGs? I imagine it must be much easier to counterfeit a printed plastic container like Littleton uses as opposed to a TPG slab.

The Seller wants you to think it is a Littleton but if you look closely it is not the Right spelling looks like two L's after the double T's what deceptions. What Crooks. away with all of them Keep buying Smart and don't be taken good eye!!
IMO. Plastic opened and then a shoddy attempt at reseal. Note the warped crinkles on the plastic on the right of the coin (1st and 4th OP pics). Possibly charring of the plastic above the coin (2nd and 4th). Blow dryer?
Yes the baggie may have been played with or be a down right alteration. I never thought of that. Just thought this fake may have made it into a legit littleton baggie as the placement of the individual coins into the baggie is a hand to hand process.

Doesn't the baggie say 1937 with no D

It sure does. That's the first strange thing about this whole set up. Littleton does offer coins for approval. If you don't like them, you send them back.
As far fetched as this might be, this might have been one of those coins. How they got it, or where it came from is a mystery.
All we know for sure is that it wasn't offered by them as a genuine 3-Leg coin.
This one has me thinking........so far very strange.

This was a very creative fake and I hope no one attempts to fool themselves into thinking Littleton sent it out like this.

I agree. This was post-Littleton.
I'm glad it's gone !!!
Well, it DID have 3 legs. Four in fact.
Obvious fake......The third photo was taken with the coin out of the bag !
Creative, although the elements themselves (the coin and the bag) were laughably spurious. Good to be on the watch for better-executed versions of this scam.
Yeah, this was the even rarer 1937D Peg Leg variety.
How can a coin missing a key feature be graded a gem?
