@nankraut Perchance to buy yourself a 60th birthday present? My only thought as to why you might have so many of this one year.

    Kind regards,

eBay pretty much automatically comes with a 30 to 60 day return. In practice, due to chargebacks, there's effectively 180 day return.

Can someone explain to me why the linked single Proof set off eBay went for so much sight-unseen? Just curious.

  • nankrautnankraut Posts: 4,565 ✭✭✭

    Hi DBSTrader2,

I've noticed the same thing. I guess that there are still people out there who hope they can open a "sealed brown envelope" proof set and find a bunch of DCAM coins. Odds are about the same as winning the lottery. In some cases, they may find a bunch of steel washers in an envelope that has been resealed. Furthermore, once opened, they usually cannot be returned. Each to his own, as they say. My sets listed here have all been closely inspected: No DCAMS, but also no spots, stains, torn pliofilm, etc. I've sold over 200 sets in the past month, with no returns. I'm now offering 100 set lots of my 1957's @ $2600 delivered, with 7 day return privilege. A buck more per set on smaller lots.

nankraut: Thx for the explanation! I thought as much, but that's a big bet to make on a single set...... I myself am not looking for any sets before 1958, but continued good luck on your remaining sales!
