Let's Play Guess the Grade, 1846-O Half Eagle. - No CAC involved. Answer Provided

Okay, this coin does not have a CAC sticker and it's in "the wrong holder." There will be no CAC commentary here. Be that as it may it is a very scarce date and mint mark combination with a "Coin Facts" estimated population of 90 pieces. Doug Winter says there are only four or five known in Mint State.

Here are the straight on shots. As usual with my photography the mark in front the nose is there, but it's not as big as it appears. Otherwise this is fairly accurate.


And here are the angle shots which you can interpret them as you like. Some people think that these are taken for the sake of hype.


For those who guessed MS-61, you are a winner!. This coin has really great eye appeal, and would be a very nice example of the No Motton $5 Liberty, which is a very scarce type in Mint State.
