  an absolutely gorgeous coin, no doubt about that! What always lingers in the back of my mind when I see a heavily toned coin, is how long before it become terminal? I like toners, but the ones I buy typically just have rim toning....

  Glad you guys and gals enjoy the Merc... Bankerbob the process of toning slows down dramaticly if not completely once the coin is removed from the original storage which toned the coin and encapsulated into the newer premium services holders... I have many examples that have not diminished in clarity of color that have been in our hosts holders for over ten years... Thank you for the input!

  That's good to know AB! I do have a few gorgeous toners in pcgs slabs. I hope your right on the slowing down/stopping of the toning process. My guesstimate is that I wont live long enough to see the "death" of my collection anyway? Who knows what the herirs will do with coins!!! Thanks for the input on my question. Again, great coin!!!!
