Daniel Carr fantasy over strikes and 2016 octagon round

jwittenjwitten Posts: 5,258 ✭✭✭✭✭
I did not see these posted yet. His new over strikes and 1.5 octagon round are now online. The octagon will probably sell out today, so if you want one you better hurry.

Limited two per household with a total mintage of 125.
Other issues (not as attractive in my opinion) sold out quickly and have a strong secondary market appeal.

Very Nice, I'm going to have to build a display case for my D. Carr collection, and be sure I leave plenty of extra room.

What does it mean on the reverse when it says $60? Where can a person spend it as a $60 coin?

    Its not legal tender...

That's a nice looking owl. I don't love all of his stuff, but that reverse is fantastic.

Ordered mine at about 1pm my time (Eastern). Glad I got it in. With a mintage of 125 (which isn't as low a some of his past works), I'm wondering if the 125 is 'kaput'. Thanks for another great piece, Mr. Carr!
    I'll come up with something.

Looks like a nice piece. I like the larger 1.5 oz tokens.

The "face value" is symbolic, although I would certainly take it in trade (like a token) at that value image For the Clark Gruber issues I've been using a face value standard of $2,000 per ounce gold and $40 per ounce silver.

    Thanks,
I'm not planning to do any proof or proof-like over-strikes of the current fantasy-date coins. The dimes and halfs would look interesting, I think, but the quarters would look strange.

But I am thinking about doing a proof version of the silver Owl octagon.
