Would you patronize a dealer more that had a Loyalty Rewards program?

Just like shopping at the local A&P, you earn points when you buy coins and when you earn enough points you can redeem them.
What redemption rate would make you check that dealers inventory first? 1%, 3%, 5% - 10%?
Would it work for dealers?

Don't get me wrong- I love coffee as much as anything else- but for an item that I'd drop $500-600 for (if not more), I'm going to care most about the final price/quality, not the 10% discount I got from the original asking price. (I mean, they could be related, but not strictly so).

At the end of the day, the coins I am looking for drive what dealers I do business with. The coins I want are hard enough to find that a loyalty program would not steer me to any particular dealer. It would just be a nice added feature if the by chance my dealer or dealers had such a program.
No... I buy coins I like and I buy where I find them... or from people I know and trust. Cheers, RickO
Agreed.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
Loyalty ? That's a serious subject.
Loyalty? Surely you can't be serious.
Dealers normally give a bit more leeway to return/steady customers. How much more do you want?

thats worked here for years and with many more as well.
most successful dealers ALREADY have a "loyalty" program in place, it's called discount-and-first-shot. and yes, I patronize them, that's how you get the perks.
DITTO! Exactly what I was thinking...

And you can add cherrypicking privileges to the list. Cant pay for it now? Hell, throw it in the safe!
I thought building a relationship with a dealer/dealers is part of the path we are all on
Not sure if it was a success
mail in rebates.
Just give me the best price and let each transaction stand
on its own.
it was a nice perk and new guys wanted to get their own bucket. the only twist was that he was in charge of nicknames!!

my boss used to use something he called "the bucket" system: he kept plastic buckets with a customers nickname up on shelves running behind his desk. if you were a frequent flyer he'd put stuff in the bucket till you came in, if you weren't so regular he'd call and ask if you wanted an item. nobody was under any requirement to buy an item, if it didn't suit you he'd put it out for sale. he moved a lot of new material like that and made lots of guys happy.

Instead of submitting a want list, the owner created his own Bucket Lists
Maybe it would work if you're just buying cheap random junk to fill album holes, but the really special coins aren't always the ones on the website or out in the display case.
