Has anyone gotten a prenup specifically to protect a coin collection?

I was married for 17 years in CA. (with a CA. prenup) before the Big D hit, but the prenup worked. We only (for the most part) argued about the kids, and for the most part kept the lawyers out of it. I think that helped us to stay on speaking terms. Even though I've had another significant other for 6+ years, I still get together at my Ex's place for Christmas dinner with the kids (both are fully grown and self supporting) each year.

    I've long said : " Marriage is a bond between 2 lawyers and a judge "

…and by golly that opinion isn't likely to change when, or if, LOVE is not at the center of the relationship.

Now I'm asking myself : What's love got to do with this ?

My first divorce cost me 125k 26 years ago, in hindsight it was money well spent. I was spitting bullets at the time

I have been married 20 plus years this go round and thought about a prenup but decided against mainly since we both made about the same amount of money and had some common goals. If we divorce tomorrow she has earned her half and I have no issue with that. We have done better together than I would have ever done alone.

Back to the prenup I decided against it as I felt it would be a issue or thorn.

To the OP only you can decide what you feel works best for you. If for some reason I ended up divorced again I probably would go the prenup the 3rd time.

Skyman certainly is correct, although there are some interesting means of breaking prenups such as duress or no legal representation at time of signing, etc.

Rich guy problems, does she love me or my money?

I figured this one out yesterday. Big snow storm, crash car because of stupid other driver (it snows every year but the dam turkey drivers always cause problems), wife picks me up and while at dealership, getting car looked at, buys (leased) me a new 2016 Kia Sportage crossover sport ute saying it will be safer and easier for me because of health issues.

She works 60+hrs a week and I am a stay at home dad, she is welcome to each and every coin I have no matter the value!!!!

I knew that this very appropriate question would generate all manner of snarky replies which were of no value to the OP. Fortunately, there are some great replies as well. Without question I think that a pre-nup is reasonable. For any significant assets one should absolutely consult with the absolutely best attorney long before hand to draw up the agreement. The agreement should be given to your future spouse for review by her and her atty if she wants one well in advance and discussed frankly. I've never understood why folks have issue with a pre-nup. It is only in effect if you divorce. If that happens why is she entitled to your pre-marital property? JMHO of course.
