I think what you have there is die deterioration doubling.

I see it. Interesting but fairly common and not extrinsically valuable.

Notice how the 'ghost' of the letter is always oriented to the rim? Die erosion causes this effect on the devices, whereas a true doubled hub, the doubling will generally be clockwise or counter clockwise all the while mimicking the crispness of the device.
