Baltimore show and colorful Liberty Nick NewP Edited with crayhoundog images
The highlight today was I introduced a neighbor/friend to a big show. He tagged along as I dropped off some submissions and decided to piggy back with one coin, I introduced him to some of my favorite dealers and explained the world of grading. He was taken with the electricity of the show, and got some appraisals on coins and currency. I dropped off some consignments with GC, did some show and tell with others. Then it was off for the hunt.
The one newP was an 1895 V nickel. It was a tough call - I had seen another very nice piece (different date) that would have been an excellent fit on a dealers web site, and in hand it did not disappoint. I had committed somewhat mentally to this other piece when I found this one. It will upgrade a 62 I've had since the Teletrade days. It will be sent for proper imaging. Thanks to board member Hobosapian for the piece.
And now with a pro with the lenses

Pretty coin
Very pretty, and a little better date, too - nice pick up!
Attractively toned Liberty Nickels and SLQs are hard to find. In all of the years I've been collecting the former, I only have one rainbow toned example, an 1899. It looks a bit like your coin's obverse, specifically around the stars and in the obverse field. I have seen an 1887 even nicer than mine that went for at the time, obscene money. I didn't pay a premium for mine.

Nice coin!!
Love it!
Beautiful coin. Anyone know why there are dozens of color-ringed Buffalo nickels for every colorful V nickel?
Commems and Early Type
Nice nickel....Is the show busy?? Cheers, RickO
Congrats....Very nice 1895!
I recently sold off most of my Lib nickel collection, but I'm hanging on to my 1888 PCGS MS65 for now, primarily because you don't see rainbow toning on them much.

Nice 5c doc!
While many comment that coin shows are dying and many coin collectors purchase coin via internet, there are a lot of good reasons why a collector should attend coin shows. - acquiring this coin is one of the main reasons. Very pretty coin that this collector would not have seen nor added to his set. Great job.
Thanks erwindoc....I'm kinda fond of your 1885 nickel myself!
Lovely!
Love those toned Liberty Nickels!
I own 1 Liberty Nickel.
This is a DDO FS-101, you should have it attributed.
