Anybody in Detroit area got a metal detector my family can borrow?

CaptHenwayCaptHenway Posts: 32,630 ✭✭✭✭✭

My Ma was recently moved into a nursing home, and even though we moved her stash of silver coins into a safety deposit box long ago one of my brothers wants to check the yard just in case. I think it's a wild goose chase, but whatever.

Please send me a direct message if you have something we could borrow.

Thanks

Sorry to hear about the move, but based on an even remote suspicion that she might have buried some loot, I like her style. I have not done anything like that myself, but I wouldn't put it past me.

you might try googling local metal detecting clubs. I belong to one and we offer free services for things such as this.

    Good luck!

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

Go to Facebook, look up FMDAC

Federation of Metal Detectors & Archaeological Clubs.

A not for profit organization that has member clubs all over the country.

Good luck, they probably will not loan a detector, but may do it for fun

Equipment rental yards, around here at least, always have metal detectors available. The price is very reasonable. Around $25 per day, or less. Maybe not the best quality but for what you need one for I think it's your best bet.
