is it bad luck to keep your fingers crossed on your submission?

Day 34 in Error submission, with a new possible discovery coin.
I've crossed my fingers toes eyes and in the path a black cat.

It's not bad luck, but believing that actions on your part will influence events in another part of the country is what psychiatrists refer to as magical thinking. It's one of the criteria they use to determine if a person has a mental illness. Wearing a lucky jersey to a game, special socks while fishing, or avoiding stepping under ladders all fall under the same category. Probably we're all a little crazy right?
Good luck on the submission though!
Maybe if you are a seamstress
Steve
I'll be sure to walk under a ladder for ya tomorrow
Yes it is, which could in fact offset the built in bad luck on submissions. After careful consideration, you are fine!
I trust more in hard work and research than in luck.
But what if you're Irish?, not me I'm Hienz 57 varieties
I just saw a black cat,,,, I think your grades will be fine
I always find it amazing the strange things in which people believe. My Dad was superstitious. That cured me of all that balderdash at a very young age. Cheers, RickO
Keeping fingers and toes crossed that long could produce skin ulcers and promote fungal intrusion. Why not just cross two sticks and pretend they are fingers?
About the eyes --- see an optometrist right away, if you can navigate to the office.
PS: Where/when did finger crossing for a good outcome originate?
is it bad for the keyboard to refresh every 5 minutes?
Well my grandmothers last name was Kelley so I'm at least a quarter Irish ....
Luck .......... people have always considered me lucky. Yes I have had great luck but also horrible luck. Luck goes both ways.
Poker players say it is the bodies biorhythms. After hearing them discuss this, I really believe this to be the case. Some days you can't lose and other day no matter what, you can't win. You need to recognize what stage of the biorhythm you are in and either go with it or avoid it.
I also truly believe that some of the luckiest people are also some of the hardest and smartest workers.

Bad luck to be superstitious
"is it bad luck to keep your fingers crossed on your submission?"
I think so. It's never worked for me.
I got an upgrade once when I buried a toad in a Baptist graveyard at 2 am, though.
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
I can understand how people hundreds or even thousands of years ago could believe in superstitions.
I have not been the least bit superstitious--and I agree with RickO that it's a bunch of hooey.
Just cross your T's. and dot your I's.
Otherwise, PCGS may take longer .
Anyone who understands statistics, and with their intelligence based in reality, knows that luck - or any other superstitious beliefs - are simply a way of explaining what one does not understand. This goes for any belief, in anything outside of reality. Cheers, RickO
