ANA's World's Fair of Money 2017 - Denver, CO Trip Report

I finally made it into Denver yesterday for my day trip through the ANA's World's Fair of Money 2017. With high expectations, I did not get much sleep last night in preparation for my full day on the floor visiting with a few dealer acquaintances, the Stack's viewing room and Heritage viewing. I am going to drop off a few coins at our host, ATS and a few at blu62vette's table.
I attended the LSCC meeting and there was a “great turnout” with approx. 35 members in attendance. Gerry Fortin, LSCC President, reviewed some of the club accomplishments, including Bill Bugert’s generous donation of his Register of Liberty Series Half Dollar Varieties, all mints except Philadelphia which is still in print. http://www.lsccweb.org/BillBugertBooks/BillBugertBooks.php
There is lots of valuable information on the LSCC website as a whole and is definitely worth looking into. http://www.lsccweb.org/
The bourse was lively with activity in both buying and selling. The displays were plentiful and exhibits were more so.
The "Making An Electrotype" display was interesting.
The “Broken CC” Morgan was present at the Northern Nevada table.
One dealer had quite a few Redfield Dollars. (Sorry fuzzy image)
I still don’t care for these commemoratives, even if there are more than one style of finish.
The 1933 Double Eagles and 1913 Liberty Nickel was on a rotational display, I could not get a good image of it.
The Bureau of Engraving and Printing had quite a few displays including a sheet of $100,000 and $10,000 bills. There was a couple of "plates" that were used to print currency on display, but were apparently nickle plated and very reflective. There was a spider press as well.
I observed that there were numerous NGC and other slabs to be processed through our host. However, I did not see another brand of holder being processed at NGC. Someone mentioned in a previous thread if many PCGS holders go ATS for crossover…I did not see any in Denver.
Overall...not a bad show.

Interesting electroplating display!
Nice report.....thanks for sharing!
Very cool. I'm now really tempted to make my own electrotypes. Hmmm...
This is really begging for a dual holder!
Either that or putting it together in a single slab with a cointain to hold it together, like this one being auctioned off at ANA:
Nice report, seems like it would be worth an extra day.....I often found large shows to be worth a second visit. Thanks for the report/pictures. Cheers, RickO
