So, after 10 days, the poll remains to be in that 50-50 range. In conclusion, it does seem to be that Ebayer's are half the time being stiffed! I know some don't like that word, "stiffed". Whatever one may call it? Half the time you are NOT receiving what is pictured. Sure, you can return the coin/coins if your not pleased but what a hassle. This is why I prefer to attend a B+M store or Coin Show in person. More work but you know for sure what your Cherrypicking and best of all, you get to take it home without the worrying of returning it. Oh well, to each his/her own.

Most of us prefer to go to shows and B&M shops as well, but when the shops are closed and there no shows around, there is ALWAYS eBay. If you limit your sources, you limit your potential.
I have no problem cherrypicking at shows. Picking eBay is the toughest as sometimes an image can "look" right, but when the coin arrives, it's not what you were after. I have not had a coin switched yet, everything matches up to the images. I keep my misses, the only coins I will return are ones that are problem coins that were listed as non-problem coins, I've had a fair share of those.
I consider a Cherrypick as anything you can pick up at a good discount.
The '42 DDR cost me only $41.00 shipped.
I have a second example that just finally shipped that looks to be better than the one above that I paid less than $34.00 for.
the 29-S was graded "XF".
You must have a hell of a lot better eyesight than I do!
I'd still love to find a 46 DDR.
XF? That is what I would call a Cherrypick!! I'd be shopping that guy all the time.
I do have decent eye sight, but both of the auctions showed that reverse at perfect angles to make them a no question DDR. Both ended within 3 days of each other. I was shocked that no one else picked up on them.
I've been looking for a '46 but no luck yet.
Funny, I've probably picked a dozen 1946 DDR Walkers off eBay in grades up to MS 63, but I've never scored a 1942 DDR. The two you just found are fantastic, I may have to start looking again if stuff that nice is out there.

Incomplete planchets wanted, especially Lincoln Cents & type coins.

The second one is due to be delivered tomorrow. I was very surprised to have found two in what was essentially my first attempt to look for them. I came across a 1945 that I thought might have had potential as a "No AW" but I think it was a trick of the lighting, as the seller had several other dates that looked very similar.
Here are the sellers pics of the first one that I posted above.
The sellers pics of the second one were shocking that nobody else picked up on the DDR, it was very obvious.
I will echo other posters. 1964 AH proof half dollars, 1956 Type 1 proof half dollars, 1961 DDR proof half dollars, 1959 Cameo proof half dollars, etc. These are raw coins that can be found with effort and purchased for modest money.
At a recent national auction I spotted a 1915 Buffalo Nickel in a NGC MS64 holder. It looked like a Matte Proof to me. Got it for $250. Now it is PR65 PCGS.
