These tokens where struck in very limited quantities just for Hamer to give to his friends as Christmas presents.

No.
I've told myself that but my widgets just laugh at me.
Nice token.
That edge shot is great!

Nice! How in the world did you take a picture of the token's edge?
Thanks it's quite simple as all you need is the mirrored reflector from a flashlight...

...and proper lighting. And focus on the reflected edge, not the coin. And edit the mirror image so it's readable. And black-out the coin & background -- if you can (I can't). And hold your hand steady. And don't touch the reflector surface.
Right. Simple.
Actually, pretty dang clever.

A copy stand makes it easy as it takes longer to take the reflector out of the flashlight then to take and process the picture.
I actually need to back my lights away as the mirror really radiates light.
Oh and heat too as you need to move fast and wait a moment for cooling off before touching the coin if your using halogen lighting.

I have not had the experience of having a collectible tell me that it's rare, but have had a well-known dealer sell me something that I thought was rare and hence I bought it without hesitating. About a month later, he emailed me, moaning that he sold it WAAY too cheap. This has happened twice. I'm hoping for a third time, assuming he lets up on his cataloging gig.
