I've been messing with animated gifs I made of a nice proof Seated quarter, and I wanted to try posting them here for kicks. After some help from several people who posted below, we got the images up. Try not to get too dizzy looking at them!

Same way that you post a photo. Use the portrait icon button at the top of a text box. Just copy and paste the .gif URL into the image browser box. Don't know why PB wrecks the resolution. Did you try to resize it in PB ?

OK, I found that CollectiveCoin does a better job of hosting it than Photobucket. When I uploaded the pics to this site, I get a broken link. Fusetalk!!!!!

Here are the links if someone else wants to try:

The same way you post any other image - just make it a gif file.

    Cool.

Jeremy (airplanenut) was one of the first people years ago that posted videos of his coins on eBay, rotating them like that.

OK, great - I got it to work in my test post. I needed to copy the link from the pop-out image in CollectiveCoin, and then it worked. Since we have already posted the images here, let me post the still photos from the seller.
The coin is graded NGC PR65 Cameo, and it has a CAC green bean. I actually made the gif files using my 10 yr. old point-and shoot camera, which does a better job on coins than my expensive new one. One set of photos for luster and mirrors, one set for color. That's the only way I can figure out how to get a truly accurate picture post on a toned proof!

By the way, the coin has a heavy cameo effect on both sides - it's not a phantom cameo. Who would have ever known from the seller's photos? Even the gif files didn't pick up all the contrast.
Now if I can only slow down the frame rate a little so the coin doesn't look like it's dancing after it just smoked some crack....
I also have to work on the lighting to get the colors to come out. The gif format might become my new preferred method to show toners in slabs on this forum if I can get the lighting right. If only it didn't take two hours to image one coin and post it!

You should edit the title of this thread, so that fewer members will be likely to miss this beauty !

I'm certain that jhdfla would not wanna miss it. image

That is a beautiful quarter! And I'm glad to see Collectivecoin can still deliver, despite the recent forum...upgrades.

Beautiful coin.... in the .gif, the tarnish is not visible.... I like that....

Pictures have come a long way on the forum.... I remember when the first were

posted....rave reviews at that time - but could not compare to what we see

    everyday now.... Cheers, RickO
