PCGS grades back … … … … with TrueView links [UPDATED]

Well, I got my crossover grades and the return shipping email. image

First time for me; prior submissions have been raw. I was a bit nervous because of the $$$. I don't care about the grades, but had enough other reasons so I decided to jump. I did however put minimums because I need to retain a certain % of resale value (in case my kid doesn't want 'em). So, three did not cross (was four, edited this portion updated after my blue box arrived and more details revealed themselves). One PR70 that I set the minimum as 70 - OK I knew that was 50/50.

The biggest shocker is #15 below, a Brazil 1820-R 960 R (KM-326.1). It's graded NGC AU58, and my minimum grade was 55... and they say it's because it was cleaned image
I posted a pic below image

Overall, things seemed to have gone well. Not sure what to make of the 1820 Brazil. I don't have an answer for for that without an in hand look. What does the 1875 A 5 Francs look like? Some of the Belize coins likely have very low mintages and I often wonder how many have survived.

Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.

Hard to tell much from the pic re the 1820 - whats at 9 o'clock? This cudda gone either way.

Can you post the THREE that DNC?

The others are all sweet and the cross's seem to make sense image

Yes of course. Sorry I'm a little rusty at this imageHere is the Katanga gold 5 Francs with appreciation/apologies to NFCoins for borrowing their pic (it's the only one I have)

I do have a decent pic of the Hercules "small A" variety from France but it's not on this computer at the moment ... I'll get back to you on that.

edit to add: With regards to the Katanga piece, they typically appear worn on the rims and marked in the fields. It is very hard to find one in better condition than this. In fact, if memory serves, this is currently the highest graded across the street. I could be wrong about that but ... I thought our hosts would've taken this into consideration and been a little lenient with the grade (as they do with so many USA types).

    Thank you! image

So this is weird ... my coins arrived in the mail today and GUESS WHAT?! Turns out Hercules did cross after all ... and at the same grade (MS64).

I swear to you, as I type, I am staring at this beloved coin of mine in a new PCGS SECURE PLUS slab cert #32213425, which coincides with the rest of my order's certs ...

but doesn't register in the PCGS website database! Somebody made a data entry error when posting my results. Worse things could've happened. Like it not crossing.

Other treats in this little blue box include the body bags for the DNC slabs, of which there are now THREE, including the Brazil 960 R and it says ...
